The Birth & Women’s Health Center has been providing quality midwifery care and out-of-hospital birth options for women and their families in Tucson for more than 29 years.  Birth Center midwives have attended the births of more than 9,000 healthy babies during that time, giving each baby and family a great start in life.

Now part of the El Rio family, the Birth Center remains an important choice where families experience:

§         Low-tech, high-touch care from a dedicated group of certified nurse-midwives.

§         Group prenatal care and education to support pregnancy and birth.

§         Family-centered, empowering health care that focuses on what’s normal and healthy about pregnancy, and trusts women’s bodies to do what’s needed during birth.

§         Safe water birth for drug-free pain management and a peaceful entry into life.
